Tom Cleaver has been in the battery industry since 2012. He has been CEO, working full time for Cognition since its founding and combines senior management activities with systems engineering/product development work. 

Prior to starting Cognition, Tom spent 5 years at Oxis Energy as a project manager running development projects to improve the Li-S chemistry and work with customers on systems integration activities. Before this he worked at Thales UK leading development of software defined electronic warfare equipment. He received a BEng in Electronic Engineering from the University of Southampton in 2004.
