CellPod One
Our table top thermal chamber
We are paving the way for the evolution of battery testing.
The independent thermally controlled CellPod One has been designed to solve the common difficulties that arise in battery testing and have been optimised to make testing more accurate, flexible and safer.
What is the CellPod One?
The CellPod One: our table-top mini thermal chamber
Each CellPod Quad contains four individual CellPods, each of which are independently thermally controlled and surface cooled for accuracy.
01
One cell per CellPod: cylindrical, coin & small pouch cells can all be tested
02
Each CellPod is individually controlled: no interrupting tests or cells waiting at rest
03
Each CellPod is cooled/heated via direct surface contact from -20°C to +120°C (setpoint change < 3 minutes)
04
Tool free cell instrumentation and insertion, with 4-wire (Kelvin) connections
05
Low resistance electrical contacts, with 1 mΩ total resistance (typical)
06
Up to 15A continuous current
Why use the CellPod One?
Accuracy
CellPod One have superior temperature stability and heat/cool the cell via direct surface contact, which improves your data accuracy, allowing easier cell to cell and cell to pack comparison.

Flexibility
The CellPod One is a game changer when it comes to flexibility in your lab. Unlike thermal chambers, which can only hold one temperature at a time, each CellPod Quad will contain four CellPods which have independent temperature controls. This can save you vast quantities of time, and prevents unnecessary calendar ageing of cells whilst carrying out cycle life tests.

Plan 1: 1C CCCV charge, 2C CC discharge.
Plan 2: 0.5C CCCV charge, 0.5C CC discharge.
Plan 3: 0.2C CCCV charge, 0.5C CC discharge
All plans: 30 minute rest between half cycles and 50 test cycles between RPTs. Test cycles run at 40degC and RPTs run at 25°C.
Safety
Make your risk assessments easier and your lab safer.
CellPod One is rated EUCAR Level 7 (Explosion) for coin cells and EUCAR Level 4 (Venting >50% mass, no flame, no fire) for cylindrical & small pouch cells.

This showcases an explosion level event - as seen once an explosion occurs the debris can be removed and a new fixture and cell can be added
We understand the importance of providing reliable and trustworthy testing results, and work tirelessly to exceed your expectations.

What cells are compatible?
Which CellPod One?
Temperature range -20°C to +70°C
Temperature range 0°C to +120°C
Optional extras
Temperature gradient sensor
The temperature gradient of the cell under test can be sensed in five locations by using the cell clip and temperature gradient strip.
No adhesives or tape is required, the clip holds the sensor against the cell for reliable, repeatable measurements. (Note: A different sized clip is required for each cell type)
Auxiliary Sensor Connection
Each CellPod One also has the option of an additional external sensor to be connected, for example a strain gauge.
The auxiliary sensor uses a two pin connector to record 0-5V data. The input is sampled at the same rate as the cell temperature sensors.
